Decided to share the happiness of making my 1st successful curry hahahahah!
The last time I made curry with Chicken curry powder, it was a disaster... The curry tasted sandy and watery....euurghh!!
This time we made with Vegetable curry powder and it was an amazing success! :D
We used:
-Chilli, onion, garlic
-Vegetable curry powder
-Variety of vegetables, taupok .etc
-Coconut milk, salt and maybe some chicken stock
-Curry leaves (optional)
Peeling the onions... *tears*
Chopping the chilli, onion and garlic
Fry the chopped chilli, onion and garlic together first, then with the curry powder (you'll need 4 tablespoons to make a pot we did). Oh yes, beware of the overwhelming smell that will pierce through your nose when you attempt this and send you scurrying around like cockroaches sprayed with pesticide. Seriously. Keep your windows open for that breath of fresh air, you'll need it.
Curry leaves!!! We grow curry leaves, that's how we get them. Don't come and pluck all my curry leaves! XD
Add in water, curry leaves, chicken stock, salt or any other spices.
Add the vegetables according to how long they take to cook. We used:
Add in the potatoes first, then the long beans.
Then the cabbage...
Then the lady fingers! The slime from inside the lady fingers helps to make your curry " smoother" so I guess they are quite important. My lady fingers melted into oblivion :( so you might want to add them later.
Add in the taupok and any other ingredients. Finally, the last step is to add in the coconut milk (We used 1 packet here).
And....
TADAAA!!! :D:D:D:D
Simple and delicious! *drools*
