I bet none of you have visited your local fire station righttt??
Actually, I had no idea they were open to the public to visit before this!
Yes, you heard it - all fire stations in Singapore are open to public visitors on Saturday mornings!
One of the freshies in my orientation group (Udon!!!) from JSS camp, Jamil is a fireman!
And that day was his last day of work, so we decided to visit him ~ ~ :D

They can actually control the traffic light so that they can reach their destination faster!
Lol, I always thought sliding down the pole was damn cool like in all those Hong Kong fireman shows! XD

We also received awesome souvenirs!
It's a DIY cardboard models of some of those firefighting vehicles we saw ~ ~

Fire fighters are among the most important first responders to any disaster.
That heavy thingy you mention to pry you out from under your car, is called "The jaws of life", rather than raise a car, they are used to pry open doors that are often stuck closed due to a collision. They can pry open most doors in 10-20 seconds.
I trust you will tell your friends what an awesome responsibility fire fighters have.
