Ah, one of the great benefits of being a blogger is that you get to watch free movies all the time! And thanks to OMY, I got to catch this M18 sci-fi thriller - Repo Men, with DC. :D
For a price, any organ in your body can be replaced. But it can also be repossessed.
It's about a world where filthy expensive artificial organs can be used to replace your own failing organs on credit. However, if you cannot pay up they send these Repo Men, where they "repossess those artificial organs", basically meaning digging out your artificial lung or kidney and almost certainly leave you to die.I enjoyed the theme of the movie as it raises many interesting philosophical questions, like
Does giving life give you the right to take it away?
We probably don't think that parents can kill their own children just because they gave them their lives right? But the hospital probably has the right to pull the cord off a coma patient if they can't pay the fees. So what's the difference here?
Do you think that they have the right to take back those artificial organs if clients cannot pay up?
If yes, why? If no, how do you think it should be?
Besides all those fascinating philosophical questions, the movie is action-packed, gory and very entertaining throughout.
The only flaws are possibly a few unanswered questions and holes in the plot, but I guess that can be overlooked on the account of the kinky sex scenes smack right in the climax of the movie.
So if you like loads of blood-splattering fun, is sadomasochistic or by all means, enjoy philosophical what-the-heck like me...
