Ok we all know that is going to be a rant. xD
YOG is going to be over soon...tomorrow will be the last time I'll be reporting to the Youth Olympic Village, take photos will all the Uzbekistan people and it's sayonara! ~
Busy week as expected, but what was especially stressful was this Banking and Finance Industry Networking session with Citibank, Merrill Lynch and Barclays. I totally had to ran out to get 2 inch court shoes and skirt suits the night before (wtf??) cos we were only told we were selected the 2 days before the event. -.-
It was my first networking event and I was completely freaking out cos stupid G2000 was having sale everywhere and I couldn't find a matching skirt suit to save my life.
It has also eluded me how people can manage to walk up to big shots and chat like old friends, then unabashedly ask for their emails and lobangs (opportunities).
And most interestingly, how females manage to survive on heels all day, everyday. I was on heels for 1.5 hours for the trip to NUS, then another 2 hours for the event. During this time, I hit my head twice on the roof of the NUS shuttle bus (cos I wasn't used to the extra height, and I'm already pretty tall), befriended a blister, and had the pads of my feet groaning in protest like they were tortured.
Thank god I brought flats to change into. Amen.
Oh wells, it's over. And it wasn't as scary as I thought. They were pretty friendly. Got a few emails, now I just have to shamelessly write "follow up" emails to them and say "Hi! Rmb me? ...." according to the 'Guide to Networking' document we received. 0_0
As for school, all is...not well. Flunked my philo quizzes... (it pains me to say that) and I'm suffering from Philosophical Inferiority Complex as the title of this post suggests.
It is the overwhelming feeling that everyone is class is better than you in Philosophy (particularly, PH2203 Moral Philosphers) and because of that, you are starting to dread lecture and tutorials because this is when their exceeding superiority is shoved right into your face and you can't banish it into some corner of your subconsciousness.
Bahhhh...good luck to me.

Busy As Hell
6 modules in school, Japanese, YOG, Tuitions, CCA stuff...exco recruitment, MSAT, welcome tea, TGNMC....
1st week of lectures, I really felt like "oooo~~ I really wana learn about this and study this so much (referring solely to philosophy & japanese)!" But hell, no time.
I even freaking missed my tutorial balloting by pressing the submit button 36 blardy seconds after the deadline...cus I was rushing a presentation...
Win, Shu Fen...win liao!!
Argh, I'm so screwed.
Oh yea, it doesn't help that I'm sick.
Hopefully I will die from it and it will all end... (ok kidding, I don't really want to die...I think I'll give up my tuitions first lol)
What happened to my slack anime-watching life???
I know you're gona say I brought it upon myself and yada yada...
Well, I know. But I can rant about it right?
(Side note: I may seem like I'm a bit on the insane side, but I assure you I'm fine in real life...maybe just a little stressed out.)
Anyway...random pics from Daiso ~~

Cute....soya sauce containers???

One piece of advice from me if you're a Iphone/Ipod user: If your USB charger ever spoils, buy it from Daiso.
Don't be stupid like me and spend $8 on another one that doesn't even look half as good as the Daiso one.

The famous japanese drink!!! Ramune(ラムネ)!
Till next time ~~~

Saturday at Wendy's !
Was having lessons in the morning...
and when I came out of the classroom, guess what I saw???

DC, there waiting for me outside with flowersssss!!! :D :D
I was mad happy! xD
Seriously, flowers really do make girls happy. It's not as if love flowers a lot a lot or what, just that it totally says "You are worth buying this overpriced ornament for."

Then we went to Wendy's! It finally opened after being closed for so long due to the flash floods!
It's just a normal fast food chain with more stuff like baked potatoes and beef soups.
DC says it's really popular in the US! That explains the unusually large proportion of Caucasians in the restaurant...

They have nice seats! That's a point scorer for me.

DC munching on a fry, analyzing it and telling me that Wendy's, like McDonald's, make their fries from mashed potatoes instead of whole potatoes. :D

Their burger was ok only, but their chicken was really nice and tender!

On Plastic Surgery Once Again
It's been a long time since I've been irritated by someone...
Must be cos I've been writing peaceful (albeit brainless) posts of my Colourful Everyday Life! *claps*
(I must be going crazy)
Anyway, here's the deal...a long time ago I wrote about a Plastic Surgery event I attended here. The post itself isn't important but the comments really pisses me off, not to mention being sprinkled with spelling/grammatical errors and not making much sense at all...
But the good news is, I'll make it easy for you to understand! Basically, this Scope guy left some comments on the above mentioned post when I wrote it a long time ago. But for some reason, he suddenly posted another comment yesterday which I have decided to reply to in this post.
You're welcome to read his comments but basically today I just want to discuss about 2 things he said, namely "plastic surgery is just twisting nature and making genetic matching tougher".
Yea, it probably DOES - to the person who created DNA. What can you make out of it? That girl with that tall nose will give birth to smart babies but the other one with ears that stick out will have retarded babies?
"So when you do a plastic surgery, it doesn't mean the DNA is changed."
Well, duh...
"It's just twisting nature and making genetic matching tougher."
Now you're just pissing me off. Even though I'm not for plastic surgery, I hate it when people go about their "Ohhh nature is my friend! Nature is THE WAY. Natural is the way!" shit.
Plastic surgery is "twisting nature"? Then what about braces to shift your teeth into their right places? Maybe Great Godly Holy Nature meant for you to be buck-teethed! If plastic surgery is twisting nature, then so is dying your hair, and so is wearing clothes - just because a long time ago people didn't wear clothes and those who started wearing clothes were probably thought by people like you as "twisting nature". Let's paint a rather crude but realistic picture for you, this is what someone like you would say about people who started to wear clothes if you lived in the time when people wore no clothes: "Oh, what atrocity is that piece of whatever hanging off that bitch? She's utterly insulting/mutilating/TWISTING/destroying nature! She should be mortified! NATURE MEANT FOR US TO BARE OURSELVES (bodies) TO EACH OTHER!!! How else would I be able to see whether her juicy watermelons would be able to feed my thirsty offsprings? (aka genetic matching - in case the analogy was hard for you to catch)". But look! Since people started accepting it and it became the norm, nobody found it weird...until humans start trying something new again and people like you... The truth is, if plastic surgery is twisting nature then so is many many other things that us human beings are doing and have been doing for many many centuries.
I don't understand why is it that some people must insist on thinking this way. Why not just think that humans TOO are part of nature, and whatever we do is essentially also a part of it? Whether we chose to wear or not wear clothes centuries ago, whatever our choice - is it still natural, because we ARE nature. That being said, I'm definitely not saying we should accept or reject plastic surgery because it's up to you...whatever your choice, it's still natural cos you're part of nature. And with each and every individual's choice, that will be the decision we make together as human beings...so stop spouting your "Oh nature is great and we shall all obey it!" shit like it's some sort of holy bible we all must abide by.
Besides, what really is nature? Frankly speaking, I don't really know. You probably think that nature is some sort of initial, original or former state of things before we humans go screw it up or something. If we go by that thinking, it is likely humans wouldn't have progressed much at all because...let's see, would all be starving to death because of overpopulation because we would be procreating like rabbits cos contraception would be TWISTING NATURE! *Gasps!* Oh the horror! Or you might think that nature is really a divine set of rules dictating how the world should be...well fine! But how would you know what those rules are? Unless of course, you are the one who wrote them...in case that I beg for your almighty forgiveness. Otherwise, don't go thrusting nature into peoples' faces like you're the authority in the Area of the Natural or Nature's Appointed Spokesperson. Well, unless you have no other anti-Plastic Sugery reason except for this poor excuse for one...then by all means use it if you like.
Now about Plastic Surgery making genetic matching tougher...I suppose you think that we have this ability to look at a person and determine consciously or subconsciously (I think for you it's consciously cos you seem to worry more about it than the average person) whether his or her genes matches with ours or are good for us or whatever...and because plastic surgery has the ability to vastly alter someone's looks, it would mislead this ability of ours and hinder the wonderful genetic matching process. Assuming the premises are true, you are...correct! *applause*
But before you stamp your foot on plastic surgery why don't you go get rid of other things which are also "making genetic matching tougher"? Plus, they are so much more prevalent than plastic surgery that you'll be so much more useful if you tackled those first. Such as things like MEDICINE? They save all the horrible, weak, and sick people who are better off dead than alive! If all the sick ones get mixed among all the strong, healthy ones it's soooo much tougher to find the "good" ones...why don't you do a favour for all of us and get rid of medicines so that we'll have a easier time doing genetic matching?
Maybe you are really kind and don't like the idea of making people die either....well I have many other options for you, you can maybe...destroy acne treatment drugs cus I think the amount of acne on your face determines your risk of getting cancer! If they all get flawless faces thanks to acne drugs how am I supposed to know who has the lowest risk of getting cancer? Or perhaps stop people from doing cleft lip surgeries cos having cleft lips means you will die young or something... But honestly, if you really want to help us in our mission of genetic matching you should start by posting a detailed DNA analysis or maybe even a naked photo of yourself for us to scrutinize and see whether your genes "match" any of ours. Who knows, maybe you'll have thick eyebrows that indicate that you cannot spell to save your life.
However, I unlike you think that plastic surgery isn't affecting this genetic matching thing at all! In fact it's working perfectly well! Cos if a girl is pretty, either she is a natural beauty or she did plastic surgery. If it's the former, then great she has all the good genes supposedly associated with her beauty. If it's the latter, wonderful too cos it means that she has SOMETHING that was able to get her that mountain of money needed to do plastic surgery. If it's her dad who gave her that money then he is likely to have some good genes that got him that money which he may have passed to her (not to mention the monehhhh) and which she might pass to your offspring (together with the monehhh). Hahahahaa I'm going crazy... And in today's world, someone with either the money or the things needed to make money is actually in a rather advantageous position.

Paper Models of Things on 4 Wheels
The first thing I needed was my trusty friend, Mr Gluey Bear...
I used to use him a lot back in primary school when I was in the Art & Craft Club (lol geek!).
Ahhhhhh....the days of paper mache, cross-stitch and fabric collage... <3
Peel off, fold and glue together...pretty much idiot-proof.
Hmm, according to a piece of paper here this is the Pump Ladder...where's the ladder?
Ambulance duh!
And this is the ermm, Aerial Ladder. At least this one has a ladder!
Light Fire Attack Vehilcle aka Red Rhino! ~
Sorry for all the crap in the background lol!
They took me quite the while to do, especially the Aerial Ladder which has 3 separate parts...
Well, it was fun while it lasted...now the question is what do I do with it?
Assign them the job as a dust collector with a little office in the corner of my room? : /
